About the speaker

Stefano Bortoli

Stefano Bortoli, PhD in ICT at the International Doctoral School of the University of Trento (Italy), works as technical director and researcher at Okkam S.R.L. (Trento,  Italy). His research and development interests are in the area of Information Integration, with special focus in entity-centric applications exploiting semantic technologies.


Mohamed Amine Abdessemed

Mohamed Amine Abdessemed is a software engineer and solution architect at Bouygues Telecom since 2013 working on NoSQL and Bigdata solutions such as Oracle semantics technologies, Elasticsearch, Kafka and the Hadoop ecosystem. He holds an engineering degree in computer science and a master degree in communication networks from the university of Paris 6.


Ignacio Mulas Viela

Ignacio is a researcher working in the area of cloud analytics at Ericsson Research. His main focus is to look into what possibilities analytics techniques offer to the cloud and what possibilities the cloud can offer to the existing the existing analytics environments.

The work presented here is part of the collaboration between Ericsson Research and SICS.


Anwar Rizal

Anwar Rizal is a research engineer in Amadeus. He works in Travel Intelligence business unit, a dedicated business unit in Amadeus to handle the travel data. Streaming machine learning and understanding travellers are two of his favorite subjects.


Christian Kreuzfeldt

Christian Kreutzfeldt works as senior software developer & architect with focus on real-time streaming at the Business Intelligence department of the Otto Group in Hamburg.

Slim Baltagi

Slim Baltagi is director of Big Data engineering at Capital One Financial Corporation in Chicago.
He has more than 17 years of IT and business experience and has spent the last four years of his life hadooping and more recently sparking and flinking! He has worked on more than a dozen Big Data projects as a solution architect. He enjoys evangelizing Big Data technologies by speaking at Big Data events and maintaining a blog and a Knowledge Base on many Apache projects: Hadoop, Spark, Flink.

With some fellow squirrels, Slim also runs the Chicago Apache Flink Meetup and the Washington DC Area Apache Flink Meetup!
